Phoenix Together!

A series of free workshops funded by United St Saviour’s Charity

Not in the current show? Want to try Phoenix out? Just can’t get enough? Then ‘Phoenix Together!’ is for you. The aim of this programme is to bring people together (new faces are especially welcomed), and all sessions are free and open to all, regardless of age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity or ability. Workshops do not need to be booked in advance: turn up, connect with the Phoenix Family and have fun!

We have three final sessions to announce:

Monday 13th January: ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ (Character and Dance Workshop)

19:30 – 21:30 – Emmanuel Church Hall SE21 8BU

Led by the ‘Murder Most Gruesome’ creative team, this workshop will feature a series of character development exercises linked to our upcoming murder mystery show. Ever wanted to try out being a princess? Or a footman? Now’s your chance. Then, following the all-important tea, Phoenix stalwart Wesley Hudson will teach us some fun choreo to ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ to shake off those post-Christmas cobwebs. As ever, enthusiasm is more important than ability when it comes to Phoenix, and all are welcome (even if you don’t plan on auditioning for the show).

Thursday 6th February: ‘Clowning Around with Sophie Stockwell’ (Acting)

19:30 – 21:30 – Emmanuel Church Hall SE21 8BU

Phoenix superstar Sophie trained at ‘Fourth Monkey’, one of the UK’s leading drama schools. In this supportive acting workshop, we’ll be introduced to the incredible art of clowning using a number of games and exercises. With a focus on playfulness and exploration, expect to loosen your inhibitions and unlock the joy of being you!

Saturday 15th March: ‘Spring Sing’ (Open Mic Night)

19:0 – late – Emmanuel Church Hall SE21 8BU

Led by the incomparable Isaac Bartels, this open mic night is a social-come-fundraiser-come-chance-to-perform-that-song-you’ve-always-wanted-to sort of affair. All are welcome to sing (applause is guaranteed), join in with the group numbers, or just watch if that’s more your bag. There’ll be a cheap bar and chance to catch up with everyone; get the date in your diary now!
